I’m tired of paying these streaming companies for the ability to rent movies from them. The cost of my subscription to your service should include the movies, not the ability to give them more money to watch the movies they stream (I’m looking at you, Amazon…)
I have thus decided that I am going to go back to physical media.

I have talked Colorado to death. We’ve been there a bazillion times since I started this blog and very little changes from visit to visit.
As a direct result of that, I am shifting how I structure my blog posts. Instead of an overarching trip overview, I will pick out the specific adventures we go on while on these trips. That way, I don’t have to tell you that we went shopping in Crested Butte and Gunnison again or that we ate crack fries at Secret Stash again.
So, for this inaugural blog post in this style, I present to you, The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park in Canon City, CO

January 1-3, 2026
2025’s body wasn’t even cold before we headed out on our first adventure for 2026!
I feel like a broken record every time I say this, but 2025 was a year unlike any other that I have experienced in my life. Filled with new and exciting adventures that I never in a million years thought I would experience.

Previously on The Wandering New Mexican:
During the last days of our stay in Cannon Beach, Brandy got the call that their head accountant was leaving in short order and Brandy and her colleagues would have to fly to San Diego to be trained on what he did and take over some of those responsibilities. This trip was scheduled for December 1-3. With tickets in hand for a Blue October concert in Peoria on the 4th, there were some logistics that needed to be worked out.
November 16-27, 2025
Brandy returned from the work trip that caused her to miss the November Blue October show on November 8.
Five days later, we were on the road again, driving across the country.
Well, Ash and I did, anyway…
November 2, 2025
In April, we bought tickets to see Blue October at Hoyt Sherman Place on November 2. After our Escape the Corn Sweat summer tour and our first international trip to see Blue October in Cabo, Brandy forgot and promptly booked a work trip to northern California, leaving November 1.
Never fear though, she suggested I take Sue, her mom.
So I did!

I might have mentioned this before, but Facebook’s targeted market sure knows me.
Before our trip to Cabo, I’d spied an ad for Evil Dead In Concert, a showing of my favorite movie with a small orchestra performing the score live on stage.
There was NO way I was going to pass this up!
October 2-6, 2025
Less than six years after starting this blog, and wondering if I would ever even leave the state of New Mexico, Brandy and I found ourselves leaving the country for a four day all inclusive trip to Mexico to hang out with Blue October!
