Welcome back to part 2 of my report on our trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon, the second stop on the Greens Summer Tour.
Part two picks up right where part one left off, seeing us pick up on my Thursday after work adventure.
Welcome back to part 2 of my report on our trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon, the second stop on the Greens Summer Tour.
Part two picks up right where part one left off, seeing us pick up on my Thursday after work adventure.
June 13 – 27
After our week-long visit to Gunnison, Colorado, and a brief three day visit to our home base in Ottumwa, the Greens Summer Tour of 2024 continued on with a trip to Cannon Beach, OR.
This part of the trip was so jam-packed with excitement that I’m going to break it into at least two blog posts. This is part one.
Welp, we’ve finally done it. We’ve finally committed to leaving the country!
May 31 – June 7
The Greens Summer Tour of 2024 started last week with our triumphant return to the Western Slope of Colorado. This will be part one of, like, 100 in the series.
Today is Thursday, May 30. Tomorrow morning, we leave for the first leg of our massive road trip. First stop, Gunnison, CO.
With baseball season in full swing (pun intended), I’m in full summer-time mode now. Watching baseball movies serves to propel me through the season.

Every day, I wake up grateful for what I have in my life. I have an amazing wife, I have a terrific job that allows me to work from wherever I am, I have a great house (with issues, sure, but we love it the same) and so much more to be thankful for.
As we prepare for the most grueling four months I’m sure I will ever experience, I can’t help but wonder how in the hell I got so lucky as to have the opportunity to do it.
March 22 – 25
As I mentioned in my post announcing our new ride, Brandy just got back from a week in South Carolina visiting her property in Florence.
She got back to Des Moines Friday, the 22nd, and had to fly back out to San Diego on Monday, the 25th. There’s no reason to have driven an hour and a half to the airport to pick her up, an hour and a half back, then do it again three days later.
Instead, we rented an AirBnB in Des Moines.
We came home to Coralville with Suzie Q, our 2018 Ford Edge Titanium, on March 28, 2022 after trading in Roxy, the Lexus RX350 Brandy had when I met her.
While Suzie Q was a go-getter, and she made it through many, MANY trips with us, we’ve come to realize we’d outgrown her.
