Rail Explorers, Bluegrass Division

Rail Explorers is a company that utilizes disused railroad lines, outfitting them with large, electric-motor-assisted pedal cars that can seat two or four. They have six locations throughout the US including in Cooperstown, New York, and Boone, Iowa. When I found out there was a location near our stay in Kentucky, I put it on our to-do list.

Echo River Spring and Sinkhole Loop Trail, Mammoth Cave National Park

After a whirlwind start to the long, three day weekend, Ash and I woke up early on Labor Day and headed over to Mammoth Cave National Park for an early morning hike.

After two nights of terrible sleep, I finally got a full night of uninterrupted sleep. I woke up refreshed Friday morning so I decided to take Ash for a hike at Mammoth Cave National Park.

Salem, Massachusetts

Brandy and I had briefly discussed swinging through Salem, Massachusetts, on our way from Maine to Kentucky. The plan was to leave Maine on Friday, August 24 and spend maybe an afternoon in Salem before moving on.

Well, between being bored and being uncomfortable in our AirBnB in Maine, we decided to leave a day early and spend a whole day in Salem.
