Upcoming Travel

With the Green House Project consuming whatever portions of our lives not taken up by work or sleep, travel has been a not-to-be-discussed topic, which is extremely unhealthy for both Brandy and I. Our wanderlust is itching BAD so with the end of Phase One of the Project coming to a close soon, travel has re-entered our conversations of late.

Brandy, being the regional manager for a company that manages manufactured home communities, will need to travel to her locations from time to time. Her 2023 travel season is coming up and, with me working remotely, I am able to accompany her to some of these locations.

The properties I agreed to travel to with her include properties in Tucson, AZ, Spokane, WA, East Grand Forks, MN, and Desert Hot Springs, CA. She will also be visiting her properties in Ohio and Nevada but if I never set foot in Nevada again, it’ll be too soon.

On the trip to Minnesota, we are planning on making the 35 mile drive up into Canada for my first ever trip outside the country. We will soon begin the process of getting our passports to be able to get out of and back into the US.

On the trip to Tucson, I plan on visiting the Saguaro National Park. I have already started looking at hikes I can take while there.

Brandy has also expressed her desire to return to her happy place, Crested Butte, CO. She wants to take a lengthy, 2 week trip at the end of May, beginning of June through Colorado and the surrounding areas, such as New Mexico, possibly the Four Corners area, see what else she’d like to do.

In April, my parents will be visiting for my dad’s birthday. The Dodgers are playing at Wrigley Field that weekend so I will be taking him to the game that day. I’m also planning on flying Jarrod out for that trip too, but not telling him that my parents will be here, nor that we will be going to Chicago. I also plan on keeping the secret of Jarrod being here from my parents to surprise EVERYONE!

Finally, Brandy has discussed the idea of trading in the Edge for a pickup that’s capable of towing a camper trailer. That will give us the freedom to be able to work from anywhere there’s a Wi-Fi signal (we’ve toyed with the idea of getting a portable hotspot from T-Mobile to avoid using our phones as hotspots.)

Yes, the wanderlust has crept in hard but seeing that travel coming up is definitely a welcome sight. I can’t wait to start posting about our adventures again, instead of all these house posts…

Until then though, The Green House Project Week 9 looms large in my immediate future, then, moving day will be upon us.

I will see you next week!

-Phil
