For the first time ever, I will be camping solo.
My first two camping trips were with Alan, the first in the Jemez at the Redondo Campground, and the second near Red River in the Carson National Forest.
Over time, I’ve accumulated much of the stuff I’ve needed to camp: a tent, an air mattress, lanterns, I already had a bunch of stuff like cast iron cookwear and grill tools, then a bunch of little dollar store stuff.
I do have a camp stove coming next week and I’ll be going to Wal-Mart this weekend to pick up a few more things, then, before you know it, I’ll be packing Ash up and will be heading out for my first attempt to camp by myself (not counting Ash.)
I have the campground picked, meals planned and am in the process of finding nearby hikes to take while I’m in the area.
I’m very excited for this trip. It’ll be good for me to get away from the noise for a little bit and kind of re-center myself, and prepare for some ensuing insanity.
Stay tuned for a trip report, and hopefully, a YouTube video chronicling my time in the woods once I get back.
Until then, thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you!
