Today is Sunday, April 27, 2025, and today is the day we head out on our first trip in our RV
After sitting in our driveway for a few weeks now, and hours upon hours upon hours of time, and thousands and thousands of dollars spent, not counting the purchase price of the RV itself, we are almost ready to take it out on its first trip in our possession.
It seems impossible to say “almost”; I feel like a tremendous amount of effort has been put in to getting this thing ready to go, but there are still a few last lingering things that need to be taken care of.
Today, I have to go back to the store again (for like the hundredth time in the last couple of days, it seems), I have to go downstairs to grab a couple more things, still need some food to go into the camper, and our work tech needs to be packed up and taken out to the trailer.
Then I will be unhooking everything that’s hooked up (the only remaining utility being electric), pulling the slides in, raising stabilizers, taking out the wheel chocks, and hooking the trailer to the truck. We are planning on heading out at about 3:00 and meeting Craig and Sue at a gas station down the road then on to Lake Wapello for our week’s stay.
I’m anxious to get there and see how I do backing in to a slanted spot, and setting up.
But first, I will watch my Sunday morning program…
