Today is Thursday, April 3, 2025 and I’m really struggling to be optimistic today.
I feel like I’ve been going non-stop for the last few weeks. Between working in the basement, being on call, running back and forth to Pella four times in the last week and a half (an hour drive each way), the incredible stress of bringing the massive RV home, and the story I’m about to tell, I feel like I’m running ragged and need a break.
So, yesterday, Brandy told me she wanted to get into the RV and start assessing and cleaning it up. She wanted it leveled off while she did that so after work, I went out to drop the front end but I’d left the light on in the toilet for two days and the battery was dead. I needed to connect to shore power to get the battery charged up and level the beast out which meant I needed a 50 amp to 110 volt adapter for an extension cord. I headed out to Bowling RV, about 20 minutes from home, picked up the part and went to pay… and didn’t have my wallet.
I went to the car and called Brandy who gave me my card information so I could get it set up to tap to pay with my phone. I got it set up and went back in, paid for the part and headed back home.
I got my extension cord out of the garage, plugged it in to the outlet on the deck and went to the RV to plug it in there, and…

So, back to Bowling RV I went, where I got duped out of $90 for the correct part (later investigation showed I could have gotten something on Amazon for $20 but we needed it last night so Brandy could get in to the RV.)
I got back, hooked everything up and got the beast leveled. Brandy and I went in and the extent of her cleaning up was spraying a bunch of Febreze on all the fabric throughout.
So… I could have ordered the $20 part on Amazon and done that extensive cleaning today…?
Eh, anyway.
So, today is Thursday. We leave for Spartanburg, SC, in two days and before we go, here’s what I have to do:
- Pack
- Go to South Side Drug to pick up a refill of a med I will run out of in SC
- Go to the DMV to get the title for the RV switched over into our names
- Clean the kitchen
- Take trash out
- Fold and put away like 6 loads of laundry
- and be reminded that I “don’t like to cook any more.” (well, I do, actually, I just don’t have the time to do it…)
All this on top of my regular full time job, having swapped my flex day to this past Tuesday, meaning I now have to work tomorrow, and trying to satisfy Brandy’s needs.
I need a break. Hopefully I can get one in SC.
