Optimistic Observations: Routine is a Good Thing

Today is Wednesday, May 7, and routine is a good thing.

Well, for me it is, anyway.

After a couple of weeks of relative chaos, we’ve returned from our shakedown trip in the RV, unloaded/unpacked and laundry is still, to this day, in progress.

It took me a few days to get caught back up to the sense of normalcy that I find myself craving from time to time but I think I’m close to it. This morning when I woke up, I did so to a clean-ish kitchen (just a couple of hand-wash items I took care of in short order), made coffee and went through my normal morning checklist:

  • Start my coffee
  • Open the blinds in the living room
  • Feed Ash
  • Start first steep of coffee
  • Start Brandy’s coffee
  • Start second steep of my coffee
  • Open front of house blinds
  • Plunge coffee and take Brandy hers
  • Log in to work

Still convinced I’m neurodivergent (ADHD, likely), routine is important to me.

I’m glad to be back at it.
