Today is Tuesday, May 13, and I’m generally happy.
Today is the third day after my first dose of Zepbound. I’ve been a lot more mindful about what I’m eating, how much I’m eating, and when I’m eating.
First and foremost, when I get high, I’m now able to resist the cravings for munchies. I’m not sitting there just mindlessly eating. Course, I haven’t been able to get AS high as I usually get, but I still do have light cravings for munching, and I’m happy to report that I’m able to resist.
On top of that, I’ve been paying more attention to only eating when my stomach says it’s time to eat. I’m not eating just because it’s time to eat, and then, I’m making smarter choices about what I’m eating: reducing carbs, increasing protein to keep me full longer, and getting good fats in where I can (avocados, fish, and so on.)
I haven’t done an official one-week weigh-in yet- that’s reserved for Saturday mornings- but I do suspect I am losing weight. Next up is to work exercise back into the equation.
In other news, I’d been trying out a new sleep product the previous couple of nights. The 10mg gummy I took Saturday and Sunday nights did not let me get up at a reasonable hour. I slept way too hard and too late. Last night, I took a half dose and woke up at a more reasonable time, though I found it more difficult to get to sleep. Still testing and will try a combo tonight to see if I can get the best of both worlds.
The tiredness I felt the last few days prevented me from getting anything done in the basement but I feel a bit more energized today so will try to get a few things worked on during the little bit of downtime I might find myself with this week, with the upgrade lockdown in full swing for the next week and a half or so.
I think this weekend I will focus on getting the stairwell painted. I know Brandy will pitch a fit if I get paint on the carpet on the stairs, and I told her I wanted to hire the work out so that didn’t happen. She said she would do it but I’m 99% certain that if I asked her to do it, she would tell me to just hire it out. Instead, I will give it a whirl. I’ll be extra cautious and do my best to keep the paint on the walls, not on the carpet, but… hey, it’s me we’re talking about. Of course I will get some on the carpet…
Aside from that, if energy allows, I will go ahead and get the flooring in my office done and get back to work trying to clear out what will be the gym.
After Work Addendum:
I took a walk with Ash after work, the first in what will hopefully be the next part of my daily routine I work back in. Next week, I plan on restarting a resistance band program- this time, a five day program that I plan on doing for the 20 weeks until we leave for Mexico. I’m hoping that will boost my weight loss up to and hopefully even beyond my new goal of 3.5 pounds per week (I’m aiming to be under 300 lbs by the time we board the plane.)
Here’s to hoping!
