A couple weeks after returning from my first solo camping trip, I needed to get out for another hike. I decided to try a different trail that leaves from the same trailhead as the famed Cedro Creek Nature Trail.

I’d passed the10K trailhead a bazillion times before on the way to Sandia Crest. I’d always assumed the 10K meant it was a 10 kilometer trail, but only recently did it dawn on me that it because it starts at 10,000 feet.

I’m a glutton for punishment, I guess.
After Friday’s outing to Bandelier National Monument, followed by a morning-long outing to the ABQ BioPark and Old Town, I decided to push my aching legs on a near-6 mile hike.
