When I first started this website, I lived in New Mexico with no plans to leave. I built my To-Do List based on the idea that I would be having my adventures in and around New Mexico.
The problem is, I don’t live in New Mexico any more.

Thanks to Iowa’s bipolar weather, the hike we had planned for today didn’t happen. It rained all day yesterday likely making the trail too muddy for us.
But the day wasn’t a total loss.
Well, well, well. Here we are in Iowa and I’m about to make my first outing since the move.
Well, we made it, and what an adventure it was.
My last post was posted on January 6 reporting on a trip from early December.
Not much has gone on since then.
Oh, well… except for the fact that we’re moving to Iowa.
December 10-12
After watching several feet of snow fall in Crested Butte the week before, Brandy booked a room in Gunnison, CO, for the weekend of December 10-12.

On December 5, 2020, my life changed. That’s the day I got addicted to hiking.
November 24-26
With pretty much no family to speak of in New Mexico, Brandy and I decided to head up to Christy and Josh’s for Thanksgiving.
November 19-21, 2021
A mere week after Brandy and I attended the Blue October concert at Sunshine Theater, we headed north to Durango for my birthday. This trip included a long awaited trip on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and another very special surprise.

Before I met Brandy, I’d never even heard of Blue October. Nearly two years later, I’m calling them my favorite band.
