March 22 – 25 As I mentioned in my post announcing our new ride, Brandy just got back from a week in South Carolina visiting her property in Florence. She got back to Des Moines Friday, the 22nd, and had to fly back out to San Diego on Monday, the 25th. There’s no reason to […]

Our New Chariot
We came home to Coralville with Suzie Q, our 2018 Ford Edge Titanium, on March 28, 2022 after trading in Roxy, the Lexus RX350 Brandy had when I met her. While Suzie Q was a go-getter, and she made it through many, MANY trips with us, we’ve come to realize we’d outgrown her.
Canon City, Crested Butte, CO Part 2
As I mentioned in the first post on this trip, it was such a jam-packed getaway, I couldn’t contain it all in one post. In fact, the first week of our trip took SEVEN posts to adequately cover all the adenvtures we went on! The second week, however, wasn’t so busy.

Garden of the Gods, Colorado Spring, CO
February 19 After looking for things to do in and around Canon City, I discovered that Garden of the Gods was in Colorado Springs which is only an hour away from Canon City. We added it our to-do list and I did my requisite deep dive to discover as much as I could about it.
Arkansas Riverwalk Trail
February 21, 22, 23 The AirBnB where we stayed in Canon City was blocks from the Arkansas River. There is an 11 mile Riverwalk Trail alongside the river, some small sections of which we hiked during our stay in the city.
Redemption Trail
February 21 Another of the trails I saved in preparation for this trip was Redemption Trail. I read about this awesome slot canyon that I REALLY wanted to hike. I made it there, but alas, wasn’t able to hike it. Read on!
Canon City Museums
February 22 With a pair of little-to-no cost museums right across the street from each other, finding time between the end of my work day and the end of Brandy’s work day was a cinch!
