It certainly isn’t going to be anywhere NEAR our 2024, but 2025 is shaping up to be nearly as exciting.
After a 2024 that really saw us away more than we were at home, we started 2025 on pace to match that, with a week in January in Cripple Creek, CO, followed by two weeks in February in Montrose, CO (for which I STILL haven’t finished the post…)
Our plan was to take it easy through the remainder of the year, until my birthday trip to Utah in September followed almost immediately by our trip to Mexico in October (our passports are slated to arrive tomorrow), but boy, is our year filling up quickly.
On top of the aforementioned trips, we have added a week or two in Spartanburg, SC, coming up in a couple of weeks (developing quickly); a weekend trip to Omaha, NE, in mid-May; and a ballgame in Kansas City in June.
On top of those, we are also in the early stages of planning a couple of short, three day weekend type trips in the new RV before taking it to Colorado for August.
So, this is our 2025 at this time:
- January 11-19: Cripple Creek, CO (linked above)
- February 15-28: Montrose, CO (link forthcoming)
- April 12-18 (probably): Spartanburg, SC
- Various Dates through Spring: Weekend shakedown trips with Craig and Sue
- June 26-28: Kansas City (Dodgers vs. Royals)
- August (dates TBD): Western Slope, CO
- September 7-13: Fredonia, AZ (northern Arizona/Southern Utah)
- September 13-20: Albuquerque
- October 2-6: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (Blue October)
There are a few firsts to be mentioned for our upcoming travel year, including, of course, the RV, my first trip to South Carolina, my first visit to Kauffman Field, and my first time leaving the country (and no, I will NOT be counting the alleged trip to Mexico my parents claim I went on when I was an infant, nor the day trip to Canada I went on with my Grandparents when we lived in Oregon…)
Every year, it seems, things only get better and better. It looks like 2025 will be no different.
Stay tuned.
