Last night, we took Craig and Sue out to dinner at Tequila Grill for Sue’s birthday. I like eating there- it’s the only Mexican restaurant that we’re allowed to go to in Ottumwa, and we don’t go there all that often as Brandy doesn’t like Mexican food.
When we went last night, I noticed they now offer tacos al pastor, so you KNOW that’s what I ordered.
I don’t know if it was because it’s been a long time since I’ve had it, or what, but the three tacos I got were phenomenal! They were served with a consommé, a la birria tacos, but had that distinct, al pastor almost sweet flavor to it.
I ate them so damned fast and immediately regretted it.
I know the Mexican market on Main St. sells pre-marinated al pastor meat. I just might have to pick some up for when Brandy is gone next week.
In other news, it was such a nice, pleasant day yesterday. The Google Weather app reports that we hit a high of 77° warranting the dusting off of some shorts for the trip to Tequila Grill. I busted out my flip flops and was so satisfied with the weather.
Of course, this is the time of year when Iowa is completely psychotic when it comes to weather. We are following up the amazing 77° day yesterday with the following high temps for the next week:
- 63°
- 67°
- 74°
- 80°
- 52°
- 45°
- 63°
It won’t be long now before we hit that upper 80s, low 90s, with 85% humidity that we all know and love. *cue eye roll*
But hey, at least I don’t have to worry about shoveling snow for a while!
