Pardon my French, but for real, get it together…
The week after we returned from Cripple Creek, we were blessed with single-digit high temperatures. The following weekend promised a change though and we saw temperatures steadily start to climb and it looked like spring was just around the corner.
The following week, we saw temperatures in the 50s, to the point where I left the house a few times with no jacket or sweater. Just a t-shirt, and I was comfortable with it.
It didn’t last though- Brandy left on Monday, the 3rd of February, and the next day, we saw a freezing rain that coated everything in a sheet of ice. Temps dipped again, though not to the single digit highs like we’d seen a couple weeks ago. We were “blessed” with highs in the 20s and 30s, and they’ve been hovering right around there since.
This coming week, we are expecting to see another cold week with highs in the low 20s as we prepare for our departure for our next trip, to Montrose, Colorado.
As I write this, the high in Montrose is 62 glorious degrees. Now, they are expecting a slight cold front to move in this week with highs dropping to as low as 37 degrees Wednesday, but by and large, they’re expected to stay in the 40s and 50s otherwise.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the winters in Iowa suck. I’m hoping that things start to thaw (again) and are nicer by the time we get back at the beginning of March.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
