What’s Next?

As in love as I am with Brandy, it’s clear there are some things need to be worked on before we can have a successful relationship. We both have a couple of personal issues to work out and we’ve decided it would be best if we live apart while we work on those things.

Not to say that we will or won’t end up back together after all is said and done. It’s too soon to be able to tell.

I’ve signed documents to rent an apartment not too far away from her, nor from my work. In fact, it will shave about 10 or 12 miles off of my daily commute (5 or so miles each way) so that’ll be nice.

What does that mean for my travelling?

Well, obviously, I won’t be able to take the big, extravagant trips I’ve been taking. Long weekend stays at the resort in Colorado are likely done for now. I should still be able to make day trips with no issue, maybe some weekend trips on the cheap (the trip to Carlsbad was surprisingly affordable,) and of course I will continue to find hiking trails with which to challenge myself. In fact, Brandy has shown interest in joining me on whatever I find.

Otherwise, I do look forward to starting some camping excursions I had planned with Alan, as we we had planned on before COVID shut the world down. I’m looking forward to getting Ash out for some of these things too. He was such a good boy on our hike over the weekend, I’d like to see what he does on a two night camping trip.

A couple of upcoming excursions, for definite sure, are:

I would also like to start recording video of some of my outings, maybe start a YouTube channel, see if I can make something out of this little thing that started as just a diary for myself. Or should I invest in a DSLR and focus more on the still photography?

Perhaps I’m getting a bit ahead of myself here. I should probably be focused more on the move on May 7.

Stay tuned for more between now and then though. I do plan on some more local hikes before then.

And finally, seeing as how I have a couple of followers and new readers here, I’m going to try to make a concerted effort to post more frequently, even if it’s memories of trips past, or other thoughts about traveling and things I want to do eventually. To those new followers and readers, welcome, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the brief content I’ve posted!

Talk soon!
